Useful Dashboard Widgets
I have never been a big fan of dashboard widgets, or any other equivalent widget system before. While they definitely look cool, and have the ‘wow’ factor that will impress your friends, they ultimately lack usefulness. Fact is, most widgets can be replaced by Google (currency converter, language converter, search, stocks), and others are accomplished much better with free programs (i.e. RSS feeds, why use a widget? Use BLANK). Furthermore, some of these widgets that perform redundant tasks want you to pay for them.
This list remains dynamic, and will be updated frequently to maintain it’s usefulness. Disagree with something? Perfect, that’s how we can make this list better. Please share your opinions on what should and shouldn’t be included by commenting.
